Inspector Bob

'Inspector Bob' is a fictitious character personifying the trials and tribulations
of adventurous souls who end up in actual news headlines because of the situations
they have placed themselves in through ignorance and/or indifference.

The Right Stuff

Mountaineer, 'Inspector Bob' figures that if his motto wasn't 'always pack the right stuff', he might still be stranded in Golden Ears Park.

The 23 year old Fort Langley adventurer and his backpacking buddy, Steve spent a day and night shivering in the high country after Bob broke his left ankle on a routine descent.

'I was coming down a steep section and I landed wrong' Bob said as he recovered at home yesterday in a cast. 'It's the first time I've ever broken anything hiking.'
'We hobbled down the trail until we couldn't see it any more and decided to spend the night. We got into our sleeping bags, but it was raining so hard we couldn't sleep at all.'

At first light yesterday they were back on the train, Bob hobbling on two ski poles.

After two kilometres they met the Search and Rescue team that had been dispatched to find them.

'We couldn't have spent another night up there if we hadn't taken the right equipment'.
